Family Health Care Amigos has been awarded a Responsive Grant from the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona, providing additional support for the organization’s work to improve health, wellness, and access to essential services throughout Southeast Arizona.

The award was presented during a recent grant celebration at the Legacy Foundation’s new Event Center on its Sierra Vista campus. Family Health Care Amigos was among 29 local organizations selected during this grant cycle, with the recipients collectively receiving more than $80,000 in funding.

The Legacy Foundation’s Responsive Grant program provides awards of up to $5,000 for one-year projects that address community needs, strengthen local services, and promote population health. The funding will help Family Health Care Amigos continue serving individuals and families while expanding the impact of its community-focused programs.

The ceremony brought together Legacy Foundation board members, staff, and representatives from the organizations receiving grants. Legacy Foundation CEO Margaret Hepburn opened the event and welcomed attendees, followed by remarks from Director Polly Gosa about the importance of supporting organizations working directly within Southeast Arizona communities.

Legacy Foundation staff members Susan Richards and Julie Brooks announced the recipients and presented the awards. Board Chair Mark Savage concluded the ceremony by recognizing the funded organizations and thanking them for their continued contributions to the region.

The grant recipients represented a wide range of services, including healthcare programs, schools, food pantries, religious outreach organizations, educational initiatives, and county emergency response services. Each organization plays an important role in responding to the needs of residents across Southeast Arizona.

For Family Health Care Amigos, the grant represents both financial support and recognition of the organization’s commitment to strengthening the health and well-being of the communities it serves.

“We are grateful to the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona for investing in our mission and the people we serve,” said a representative of Family Health Care Amigos. “This support will help us continue providing meaningful resources to community members who need them.”

Through its Responsive Grant program, the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona continues to strengthen the network of local organizations working to create healthier and more resilient communities.

Family Health Care Amigos is proud to be included among this year’s recipients and looks forward to putting the grant funding to work for residents throughout the region.
