As many of you know, Linda Huffstetler-Dearing has been President of FHAmigos for ten years and her term limit is approaching.
A three-year search for a new President has culminated in the election of Lana Tompkins-Stutzman, who will be introducing herself and her new officers in a separate post. Since Lana lives in Cochise county, the bulk of the new board will be located throughout Cochise county. Three members of the current board in Santa Cruz county will remain during the transition to represent Nogales, Patagonia and Sonoita. An advisory board is being created to give a stronger voice to volunteers and citizens invested in our mission:
Family Health Care Amigos is dedicated to serving the elderly and disabled in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties through its Lending Shed. The Lending Shed operates the Durable Medical Equipment Lending Program and the Adult Senior Incontinence Program.
To that end, FHAmigos has opened a Lending Shed administrative office for durable medical equipment distribution and a monthly distribution of senior adult pull ups and bladder control pads where the former Long
Realty offices were in downtown Patagonia next to the Purple Elephant Thrift Shoppe. For now, office hours are by appointment only. Any resident in Santa Cruz County seeking these services is encouraged to call 520.681.6000 to make an appointment to sign up for supplies. Monthly distribution will be on the second Friday of the month. We are also seeking volunteers to work three hours a month assisting in incontinent supply distribution. Everyone is welcome to come by to chat a while and learn more about how the growth of our non-profit is changing residents’ lives throughout southern Arizona.
Linda Huffstetler-Dearing
President Emerita
